Lori Shepler Photography

About Lori

For over 25 years, Lori Shepler captured moments of grace, passion and excitement for readers as a prize winning photographer with the Los Angeles Times.

Lori has a unique insight to the visual world. She can capture the essence of a storm, a moment of perfect grace in a dance, or a tender, love-filed glance from a husband to his new bride. Her pictures speak volumes. With three team Pulitzer Prizes won with her colleagues at the LA Times for their work on the LA Riots, The San Diego fires and the '89 San Francisco earthquake, her work has earned the highest degree of professional validation three times over. Over the years at the Times she photographed countless celebrities, sporting events, concerts, restaurants and food, and many other events for the paper.

Now as a wedding photographer and freelance photographer based in the Los Angeles and Orange County area.

About Shanna

The beauty of being trained by an award winning photographer (who also happens to be one of the best sports photographers in the world), and having never actually worked in a news organization is this: I get the expertise and delicacy of photo-journalism (capturing what's there), combined with absolute freedom of expression.

After 2 and a half years of training, I can finally tell you what the shutter speed, the f-stop, and the ISO all do and how I should change them around (mostly). What does this mean? I'm so glad you asked. That means I get to be done with the boring technical part of it all and be an artist! To me, this is fabulous news.

I love love LOVE shooting weddings. You know why? People are happy, smiling, in love, and all around jovial. I work with Lori Shepler (remember that Pulitzer prize winning photographer I was talking about?) and together, we capture some amazing moments. I gotta say, she is Fantastic! You want someone to make an ordinary orange slice look instead like a little slice of heaven? We're the ones to call.

If you've read this far, that's a true testament to your devotion to reading entire bios, and I thank you. I hope you enjoy the photos you see, and if you do, feel free to share and keep on browsing.

If you're interested in hiring us for some photography work in the Los Angeles and Orange County area, let us know and we can take it from there! Ciao for now...
